Everything Local in Yamhill County. We make it easy to local stuff online; plus we make it easy to find great world-wide webpages.

2. Are the Classified Ads really free?

Sure are! You can list things you would like to sell and can even upload pictures! The rule is that if you are a business and want to list items you have to be a business member of PriceCatcher. But as long as what you are selling on PriceCatcher's classifieds are not what you sell at your business then it's free to use!!

3. Why would I want to use a PriceCatcher web email address?

Are you tired of junk email? If so it may be because you have given your regular email address to websites that ask for them. You can instead get a free PriceCatcher email address by signing up in the left side of our front page and use that as your secondary email address! That's one reason to use the free email service. The other is that you can access your PriceCatcher email address from any computer where you can log on to PriceCatcher! This way you can read your email when you are at your friends house or at a library when on vacation! And why not get a PriceCatcher web address? It's free!

4. Is the Weather really local?

Yes, the weather that appears on the front page of PriceCatcher is actually feed from the federal weather station located at the McMinnville Airport! The weather conditions are updated hourly. Click anywhere on the weather listing there and you'll be taken to a local area forecast!

5. How often do the pictures on the front page change?

Each time you load and view PriceCatcher.com the pictures change! Click on the pictures and links and it takes you to that webpage described.

6. Do you have a community calendar where I can list my events?

Yes. In our main section you'll find a link to our calendar - it's an interaction calendar that allows you to list your family friendly event. Please let the community know about local events through the PriceCatcher Community Calendar!

7. How can I get my webpage listed on PriceCatcher?

Currently there is no charge for community webpages such as non-profits and churches and organizations when they get listed. The web is so huge that we need your help in finding out about your webpage. You can click on the link on the "Contact us" link on the bottom of PriceCatcher and fill in the information. We'd like to know about all the community webpages! Don't assume someone else will tell us about the webpage of your organization. If you know of a great useful webpage we'll consider listing it in our "Useful Links" section. Business should contact us for rates to have a business webpage and get listed or to list the one they already have.

If I do sign up my business to be listed where on PriceCatcher would it appear? We list the front page of your webpage in our search engine, in at least one shopping category/and possible sub-categories, and in our geographically shopping areas (such as all the area downtown stores in McMinnville are listed together.)

9. Is PriceCatcher a national business or is it local and who operates it?

PriceCatcher was founded in 2000 in McMinnville, Oregon by Ruben Contreras, Jr. So far PriceCatcher is located in Yamhill County; but the future plans could include other local versions of PriceCatcher. Contreras graduated from Linfield College in Mass Communications and went on to work in local television; first in news at KATU Channel 2 (ABC) and most recently as director of the community TV station in McMinnville.

10. I'd like to have a webpage listed on PriceCatcher. What can I do to get listed?

At this time we offer free listing for non-profit, groups and organzations that have webpages and which do not compete for commercial market share. We're also interested in listing special webpage such as musicians and other local special interest groups. Usually we don't charge for such sites - let us know and we'll get back to you on it.
