About the Computer Doctor
Let me tell you a little about myself. I
was born here in McMinnville 45 years
ago last January and have lived my entire
life in Oregon, mostly locally. I have
worked predominantly in the construction
and manufacturing fields and previously
had my own contracting license. I have
always been very mechanically inclined
and have enjoyed figuring out "how
to fix stuff".
My first
exposure to computers came while
attending Forest Grove High School
where I was both amazed and intrigued
by what are now considered to be
"dinosaur computers". Over
the last five years or so I have become
very active in all phases of computers
both as a personal hobby and to help out
friends and acquaintances. I have also
bought and sold many computers on
E-Bay.
And now I have decided to
do something full-time that I enjoy, both
working on computers and offering
people an affordable solution to their
computer problems.
Common Computer Problems
There are many things that can make
a computer not operate up to its full
potential. These can be related to the
software (Windows or other operating
system) or the hardware(the actual
pieces inside your computer).
Computers are very
sophisticated elecrtonic devices but they
do require some simple preventive
maintenance tasks, lack of which is often
the cause of you computer "not
working right".
The Work I Do On Computers
I repair, upgrade and also
build new computers. I really enjoy
upgrading computers (installing new
hardware, memory, processors, drives
etc.)and making an older machine run
better than when it was new.
The
option of upgrading a computer is very
attractive to most people, where for a
small investment they can have a more
modern computer and at the same time
not feel as though they are losing their
initial investment in their original
computer.
